Wanda Wimberly Lasher

I'm Wanda Wimberly Lasher, and I'm proud to represent Better Together For Dogs in Marion County, Florida. I was born and raised right here in Ocala, and I graduated from North Marion High School in 1984. This community has always been home to me, and most of my life has been spent caring for the people and animals in it.

My background is in education and social work. I've spent my life caring for people, understanding what they need, and organizing help when it matters most. That same instinct eventually turned toward the animals around me — especially the dogs waiting in shelters and rescues for someone to truly see them.

If a dog is given the chance to be truly seen, everything changes.

For years I've run my own rescue, WANDA CARES, giving dogs a safe place to land, heal, and find their families. I'm also the owner of Lasher Properties — I've always been a strong, versatile businesswoman, but my heart has always been in the right place, especially when it comes to rescue dogs.

I joined Better Together For Dogs because I believe every shelter dog deserves to be noticed. Too many wonderful dogs are overlooked simply because no one ever shows them the way they deserve to be shown — with a good photo, a real story, and the right people paying attention.

My goal is to bring professional marketing, practical resources, and genuine community support to shelters and rescues across Florida so that more dogs find their way home. Together, we truly can do better — for every dog, every rescue, and every family waiting to meet them.
